So I bought a pair of boots since it's on sale (huge thank you to my cc). Needless to say I am so looking forward to making the most out of my spent money so I am planning to wear it as often as possible. Got inspired by some pictures below which I would like to share.

I have always dreaded needles. Luckily, I was able to avoid it for many years. Until the start of my internship. One of the requirements was having a blood test done. I mustered up every bit of courage to show up at the Faculty Medical Arts Building at UP-PGH. As the med tech inserted the syringe into my vein, I remembered gripping my boyfriend's hand so tightly that it was he who nearly ended up in tears.
As a health professional, I know it's my duty to be an advocate of disease prevention. I live by the saying "Practice what you preach" so here I am, trying my best to set an example. Time to say hello to needles again and erase my fear for good. I started with the Flu and MMR shot we were required in the company to get in April. Last Friday, I took a vaccine against meningococcemia. Got a manicure at a salon near our house. I don't normally pamper my fingernails but I decided to reward myself after a tough day on the field. It only cost me 60 pesos. Super lovin' it! Hihi.
I have a sweet tooth. More accurately, if only each of my teeth would speak up, it would probably admit that it adores sweets more than anything else in the world. And what about my brain who loves glucose to death. I mean sugar is your brain's food, and you must always feed it what it needs if you don't wanna suffer from doltishness right? Lame excuse, i know.
Well anyway, I had this annual check up at work and my results were pretty much all good except that my blood sugar is high normal. Grabe, I'm only 24 but already having this kind of lab test result. Being a pharmacist, I know that if I don't start lifestyle modification such as proper diet and exercise, I may soon be taking oral hypoglycaemics like Metformin. Having it in my genes also made it worse. My grandmother died of diabetes complications. |
